First Assistant Instructor has been named News

Today, UechiRyu had performed at The 3rd Annual General Meeting of SMK Ayer Keroh Association for Teachers-Parents. The performance was a real success with students demonstrating exceptional spirit. Thanks to Allison Beh Senpai (senior).
Allison Beh Senpai has been named the first UechiRyu Malaysia assistant instructor. Her appointment is to prepare a hierarchy of instructor to assist Adrian Hoe Senpai while he is away for his sabbatical training on Okinawa in July/August.
“I trust her capabilities and leadership. She has been training very hard with me since 2006. I hope all students will benefit from her teaching and I also hope all students will give her a fair chance to succeed to become an instructor.”, said Adrian Hoe Senpai. “Allison has been promoted to Ikkyu (1st kyu) when she joined my training last year. Her shodan in UechiRyu is scheduled in 2008 so that she can prepare for a full transition to all UechiRyu techniques.”, added Adrian.
The performance had provided a great opportunity for Ms. Allison Beh to make the first tiny step to become an instructor. She is preparing for her Shodan scheduled in 2008.
Allison will be the first female instructor for UechiRyu Malaysia.

Happy Birthday! News

After the demonstration, we proceeded to McDonald’s Restaurant at Mahkota Parade for an appreciation lunch. Today is the 17th birthday of Mr. Lim Tong Yong. We have actually planned a surprise party for him.
Lim has trained with Adrian Hoe Senpai at SMK Tinggi St David shibu dōkōkai since 2005. Lim has recently promoted to go kyu (5th kyu).
We had some very good and filling lunch. While waiting for the food to arrive, we watched a video from our Sensei on Okinawa. It was fun and everyone were enjoying.

1st UechiRyu Public Demo Demo, News

The 1st UechiRyu public is a great success and marks the very first historical milestone for UechiRyu Malaysia. The demo titled, “Karate-Do for A Healthy Lifestyle”, was held at Mahkota Parade Malacca today at 1300.
Many thanks to students and their parents for taking their Sunday off to attend this demo, the management of Mahkota Parade and our sponsor, PatisFrance. Also many thanks to students, friends and people for giving us the assistance and support. Special thanks to City Church Shibu Dōkōkai coordinator Mr. Dennis Kok and his wife, Mr. Chua Kong Shaun, Madam Cynthia Gregory for taking a Sunday off to help at the venue.

UechiRyu demo team will be performing at Mahkota Parade at 1300 hours. The team consists of 7 little Tigers from Jasin and Bukit Beruang, Ms. Allison Beh from Bukit Beruang shibu dōkōkai, Mr. Lim Tong Yong from SMK Tinggi St David shibu dōkōkai, and students from SMK Ayer Keroh shibu dōkōkai. The team will be led by Adrian Hoe.

Demo rehearsal Training

The demo team was at the Mahkota Parade for rehearsal yesterday. We were there by 2200 hours and trained until 0100. Hopefully our sweat will pay off today. And best wishes to the demo team for a good performance later today.
