Dear Adrian;
I just wanted to find out about your classe for uechi ryu. May i have a list of your class time and venues. I would like to join one of the classes ofr exercise and health but i must make sure that the timing is appropriate. I am actually from Bukit Beruang.
One more thing, who would be doing the grading under uechi ryu and where will the certificates come from?
I would also like to know if a person would have to start from white belt if he already has some background in other arts? One of the arts i have trained before was shrorin ryu karate but i stopped just one step before black and thus i dont have the certificate. My class was in bukit beruang and the instructor stopped teaching and that is why i stopped. But it was way back in year 2000. Thanks a lot.
Warm wishes;
Gary
Dear Gary,
Thank you for your interest in UechiRyu training. I have a class in Bukit Beruang every Saturday.
UechiRyu is completely a different system. Unlike conventional karate, it is more as a defense art with circular and linear movements, mostly circular. Because of this, I am afraid that regardless of any rank you have now, you need to begin from white belt.
I will email you details of the training.
Looking forward to having you in our class.
Regards,
Adrian
